The title of General Manager doesn’t do justice to all of Ray Schaffer’s responsibilities at Shortway. He does everything from making sure that we have plenty of fuel in storage, dispatching trucks for deliveries, managing our team of drivers, running the warehouse and managing inventory. He oversees our commercial and industrial fuels and lubricants businesses too!
Ray says his favorite part of the job is dealing one-on-one with the customer and ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
Taking some of the pressure off Ray is Amy Fields, our office manager who will celebrate her 19th anniversary with us in March.
“I greet customers in the office, take fuel orders over the phone, input them and generally make sure our customers are happy,” says Amy, who, when she’s not working, enjoys family time with her husband and two daughters, ages 7 and 10.
