Shortway Service was founded in 1972 by Charles Kennawell Sr. We began in the Reynoldsville Foundry as a filter reconditioning business using WIX filter machines—a service still offered today.

In 1980, Shortway Service moved into our current facility, a building that previously housed a macaroni factory and later served as storage for glass products. Over the years, we expanded our offerings to include heating oil deliveries and custom hydraulic hose fabrication.

In 1999, Shortway introduced BioZolv, a professional-strength industrial cleaner available exclusively through the company. Today, we proudly use Pennsylvania crude in a wide range of products.

Shortway Service was acquired by Glassmere Fuel Service, Inc. in 2001. Now serving over 2,000 customers, we provide bulk lubricant service throughout Central and Western Pennsylvania, and deliver heating fuels, serves commercial accounts, and runs transport operations across Pennsylvania, Northeastern Ohio, Northern West Virginia, and Northern Maryland. We also provide heating oil to homes in Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Indiana, and Jefferson counties.
